SUCCESSFUL.
Once upon a time, there was a house on the River Mur in the middle of Graz built by a man
called Andreas Haring. That was in 1872.
But now it gets interesting: in 1910 this house, which was a hotel, was rented by Johann
Weitzer and soon afterwards purchased. This was taken over by his son, Sepp, who in
turn transferred the management of the hotel to his son, Dr Hans Helmut Weitzer, in 1963.
The latter built up the business and the house for a period of 40 years and made it into
the city’s biggest hotel.
Florian Weitzer, his son, took over the management in 2003, thus stepping into the
ever-so-successful footsteps of his father.
