FAQs

We’re happy to help.
1

Where can I find the hotel “Das Weitzer” and how do I get there?

Our address is Grieskai 12-16, 8020 Graz. For exact directions, please use Google Maps. It’s definitely quicker and clearer than explaining the route using all four points of the compass.

2

Where's the hotel car park, how much does parking cost and can I reserve a parking space?

You can find Weitzer Citygarage right next to our hotel – just drive down Grieskai another 30 metres. You’re welcome to drop off your luggage in front of the hotel first, and then we’ll show you the way ourselves. Please take a parking ticket at the car park entrance*.

You’ll receive a discounted exit ticket at reception. Of course, our hotel guests can buy the 24-hour ticket for a special price: just €14.00.

Unfortunately, we can’t offer reservations, but they’re not really necessary. After all, it’s a public car park and there’s always enough space.

*Maximum height of the entrance 2.10 m – entrance not permitted with gas-powered vehicles or trailers.

3

Do you also offer valet parking?

You know your car best, that’s why we’d rather you took responsibility for it. In addition, our car park is almost a must-see in itself, with its own art installation at the entrance. You’ll only find something like that at the hotel “Das Weitzer”.

4

How do I get to the hotel using public transport from the train station or the airport?

Tramlines 1, 3, 6 and 7 stop at the train station. All four bring you to us by the same route. Get off the tram at Südtirolerplatz/Kunsthaus, and from there, it’s just a few steps. From the airport, you can take bus line 630/631 to get here. You get off at Griesplatz and go along Griesgasse to the hotel. Price per person: € 2.20.

5

Does the hotel have WiFi, and how much does it cost?

First answer: yes. Second answer: nothing. Or in a little more detail: In all hotel rooms and throughout the whole hotel – from the lobby to the seminar rooms and restaurants – you can access the Internet very easily, using WiFi. Free access for our guests. Of course!

6

How much does the hotel charge for an additional person in an extra bed?

Children up to 5 years pay € 10.00 including breakfast, children up to 11 years pay € 20.00 per day in parents bed room, breakfast extra at € 7.50. Children up to 15 years pay € 20.00 per day in parents bed room, breakfast extra at € 15.00. Children older than 16 years pay the full price, breakfast extra at € 15.00.

7

Are pets allowed in the hotel and what's the cost?

Your pet is very welcome in the hotel “Das Weitzer” and can be our guest for €15.00 per day. We ask you to look after your pet yourself. After all, you know what your pet likes best.

8

Do you offer a laundry and ironing service?

That goes without saying! Our external partner is very happy to be of service Monday to Saturday. Just notify reception and that’s all there is to it.

9

Does the hotel have a fitness studio?

You’ll find our small but select fitness and relaxation centre on the fifth floor. You can use the treadmill, etc. all day long, to get into shape. Or just break a sweat. For example, in our sauna from 5 pm to 10 pm. Towels are waiting for you there; you’re welcome to borrow bathrobes, and bathing slippers are yours for €3.00 – you can get both at reception.

10

Are smokers still welcome at the hotel?

Smokers are welcome, of course! But smoking itself is restricted. We request that you don’t smoke in the hotel, or in your room. But you’re welcome to enjoy your guilty pleasure in Kaffee Weitzer.

11

Is it possible to make a reservation without a credit card?

Yes, if you arrive before 4 pm. If you arrive later, we require your credit card details to ensure that we can reserve your room. But on certain days – for example, at New Year – we always need your credit card details, or you could simply pay in advance.
A credit card guarantee means that we just require your credit card as a guarantee for your reservation, and not that we charge anything to your card at  the time of booking. We’ll only charge your card when you check out, or if you don’t arrive and haven’t cancelled your booking in time (see next question). In that case, we’ll charge you for the first night.

12

Until when can I cancel free of charge?

If you’ve booked our daily rate, you can cancel up to 6 pm on the day before you’re due to arrive. But we recommend that you just check your booking confirmation, where you’ll find the regulations for cancelling your booking in the rates description.

13

When can I check in? And when must I vacate my room?

You can check into your room from 2 pm. And it’s yours till 11 am on the day of your departure. If you’d like the room a bit earlier or for a bit longer, simply ask reception whether it’s available. Or you could stay another night – just an idea.

14

When's breakfast? And what should I do if I oversleep?!

You can enjoy our heavenly breakfast buffet in – nomen est omen – the Engelreich from 6.30 am to 10 am every day, and even till 11 am on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. If your alarm clock doesn’t go off – to put it that way – it’s not the end of the world: You’re welcome to have breakfast à la carte or as brunch in our coffeehouse. Till 7 pm! You’ll manage that then, won’t you?

15

Is there a restaurant in the hotel?

Yes, and it’s one of the best in the city! Just leave the hotel by the side entrance, go round the corner to the left and you’re already in our restaurant, Der Steirer. Alongside delicacies like the best Styrian Backhendl for miles around, and seasonal Styrian tapas, you’ll also find a fantastic selection of wines. And an incredibly charming atmosphere, which even the locals can’t resist. So please make sure you reserve a table!

16

Where can I find souvenirs for my friends and family back home?

In our restaurant too. Or rather, in the Steirer Shop right next to it. For gift ideas galore. And if you’d like some flowers, we also have our own florist’s, the Blumeninsel.
